The X-Rider has now officially been launched in SA. Now that the anticipation is over, the question on everyone’s mind is “Which X-Rider will I get?” The X-Rider comes in 3 stylish models: Isuzu 1.9 X-Rider; Isuzu 1.9 X-Rider A/T; and Isuzu 1.9 X-Rider 4x4 A/T.

You can’t talk about the X-Rider without mentioning Isuzu’s latest generation 1.9L turbo diesel engine. This is the same engine which achieved the astonishing feat of travelling from Midrand to Cape town on just one tank (76l fuel capacity), in the aptly named “Isuzu One Tank Challenge”. For fuel economy enthusiasts, that translates to a remarkable 5.58 litres per 100 km over 1 452 km.

Safety-wise, the X-Rider boasts standard and active safety features. Standard features include: driver and front passenger airbags; front side airbags; curtain airbags; and a driver’s knee airbag. Active features include: ABS brakes; Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BAS); Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control; Hill Start Assist (HSA); Hill Descent Control (HDC); Trailer Sway Control; Cruise Control; and Rear Parking Sensors with Rear-view camera.​

In terms of tech, the all-new X-Rider has something for the whole family. The X-Rider comes standard with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen (including on-board navigation) which integrates into the infotainment system. Other key features include: Apple CarPlay®; Android Auto; a six-speaker audio system; Wi-Fi compatibility; and a rear USB port.
